The Daring Way™ Workshop in Sonoma
Ready to fly
Every day we experience the uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure that define what it means to be vulnerable. Based on the pioneering research of Dr. Brené Brown, this work dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and argues that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage. Vulnerability is indeed at the core of difficult emotions, but it is also the birthplace of creativity and innovation, authenticity, adaptability to change and accountability – the key elements that every business needs to survive and thrive.
In Daring Leadership™ you will learn how to:
Life is a practice
Under duress, we do not rise to our expectations – we fall to the level of our training.
- Bruce Lee
I love this quote but I felt it needed a slight modification....
In times of stress, we do not rise to the level of our expertise, we fall to the level of our practice.
What is worth practicing?
Time to blossom
The cherry blossoms are starting to bud. It's always a sign to me that spring is on the way. And it's a beautiful reminder how nothing in nature can be rushed. The cherry blossom will not bloom until it's ready... until it's more painful to be closed than it's scared to be open and vulnerable to the unpredictable elements. It's time for you decide.... stay closed for another year or open up and drink in this one and only life.
The Year of Abundance
It's hard to believe we are a week into 2014. The start of a new year is a time to reflect on the past, dream for the future and be grateful for the present moment. There are so many very good methods out there that can help you do this. My go to is free and I learned it from my dear friend, Kris of Kris Gleason of Sea Change Coaching . It's called the High, Low and Awkward. What was the highs of the year, the lows and the awkward moments; what did I learn about myself in each of those moments and what could I do better? Then I allow myself to imagine what this coming year will have in store for me... maybe a safari in Africa, hopefully furthering my studies and healthier relationships. Therefore I named it the "Year of Abundance." I wish you a very abundant year as well.
The Year of Surrender
At the beginning of 2013 I spent a lot of time and probably a lot more money on books, trainings and coaching to get clear on what I wanted for my life in this year. I named it, my year of surrender. Whenever I felt lost throughout these months, unsure of the next step I always came back to the surrender theme. Now, I am sitting here immensely grateful for all the abundance that was manifested over these 12 months.
I am mostly thankful for the lessons that I only had to learn once. I am hopeful that some life long lessons will not have to be repeated this coming year. And lastly, I learned that liking where I am right now, in this moment, was the first step towards getting the life I truly wanted. Happy Holidays everyone! See you next year!
